About Daisuke Nishijima
Born in Tokyo in 1974. Nishijima made his debut as a manga artist in 2004 with the book "The Universal(O-son War)," an original work for Hayakawa Publishing's SF series "J Collection."
"A Kindly World" won the 3rd Hiroshima Booksellers' Award and was recommended by the judges in the Manga Division of the 17th Japan Media Arts Festival, organized by the Agency for Cultural Affairs. The character "Boy" has become Nishijima's life's work, and since the book was published, he has continued to create works in the form of paintings, music, videos, indie games, and three-dimensional objects.
The Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art's Collection Exhibition 2024-III "Highlights + Relations Nishijima Daisuke: Character Development" is currently on view.
